[DESIGN PRECAUTIONS]DANGERIncorrect operation of the touch switch(s)may lead to a serious accident if the GOT backlight is goneout.When the GOT backlight goes out,the POWER LED flickers (green/orange)and the display sectiontums black and causes the monitor screen to appear blank,while the input of the touch switch(s)remains active.This may confuse an operator in thinking that the GOT is in "screensaver"mode,who then tries torelease the GOT from this mode by touching the display section,which may cause a touch switch tooperate.Note that the following occurs on the GOT when the backlight goes out.The POWER LED flickers(green/orange)and the monitor screen appears blank.CAUTIONDo not install the control or munication cables together with the main circuit or power cable or donot bring them close to each other.The distance of 100mm(3.9inch)or more should be ensured.Failure to do so may cause malfunctions due to noise.[MOUNTING PRECAUTIONS]DANGERBe sure to shut off all phases of the external power supply used by the system before installing orremoving GOT to/from the panel.Failure to do so may cause failure or malfunctions of the module.Be sure to shut off all phases of the external power supply used by the system before mounting orremoving the munication unit,option function board or multi-color display board onto/from theGOT.Before mounting an optional function board or Multi-color display board,wear a static discharge wriststrap to prevent the board from being damaged by static electricity.A-2[MOUNTING PRECAUTIONS]CAUTIONUse the GOT in the environment specified in the user's manual of the GOT.Failure to do so may cause electric shock,fire,malfunctions or product deterioration or damage.Tighten the mounting screws within the specified torque range when installing the GOT to the panel.Loose tightening may cause a fall,short circuits or malfunctions.Overtightening may damage the screws and/or the module,resulting in a fall of the module,shortcircuits or malfunctions.When loading the munication unit to the GOT,fit it to the connection interface of the GOT andtighten the mounting screws in the specified torque range.Overtightening can cause a drop,failure or malfunction due to the damage of the screws or unit.When mounting the multi-color display board onto the GOT,tighten the mounting screws within thespecified torque range.Loose tightening may cause the unit and/or GOT to malfunction due to poor contact.Overtightening may damage the screws,unit and/or GOT;they might malfunction.When mounting an optional function board onto the GT15,fully connect it to the connector untilyou hear a click.When mounting an optional function board onto the GT15,fully connect it to the connector.Push the multi-color display board onto the corresponding connector so that it will be secured firmly.When inserting a CF card into the GOT,push it into the insertion slot until the CF card eject buttonwill pop out.Failure to do so may cause a malfunction due to poor contact.When inserting/removing a CF card into/from the GOT,tum the CF card access switch off inadvance.Failure to do so may corrupt data within the CF card.When removing a CF card from the GOT,make sure to support the CF card by hand,as it may popout.Failure to do so may cause the CF card to drop from the GOT and break.A-3[WIRING PRECAUTIONS]DANGERBe sure to shut off all phases of the external power supply used by the system before wiring.Failure to do so may cause electric shock,product damage or malfunctions.Always ground the FG,LG and protective ground terminals of the GOT power supply area to theprotective ground conductor.Failure to do so may cause electric shock or malfunctions.Confirm the rated voltage and terminal layout and connect the GOT to the power module correctly.Connecting to a power supply with incorrect rated voltage or faulty wiring may cause a fire or failure.Tighten the terminal screws of the GOT power supply area within the specified torque range.Loose tightening may cause short circuits or malfunctions.Overtightening may damage the screws and/or the module,resulting in short circuits ormalfunctions.Be careful not to let foreign matter such as dust or wire chips get inside the module.This may cause a fire,failure or malfunctionsFor the bus connection cable,insert it to the connector of the module until a click sound can beheard.Make sure of proper connection after installation.Improper connection may cause malfunctions.CAUTIONFor the munication cable,install it to the connector of the module and tighten the mountingLoose tightening may cause short circuits or malfunctions.Overtightening may damage the screws and/or the module,resulting in short circuits ormalfunctions.[TEST OPERATION PRECAUTIONS]DANGERWhen testing the operation of the user-created monitor screen (e.g.bit device ON/OFF or change ofthe word device current value,the timer/counter current or set value,the buffer memory currentvalue),thoroughly read the relevant manual to fully understand the operating procedures.In the test operation,never change the data of the device which operation is critical to the system.Doing so may cause an accident due to faulty output or malfunctions.A-4Cautions for using this software1.Required PC memoryThe processing may be terminated by Windows on a personal puter of which main memory capacity isless than 64M bytes.Make sure to secure the capacity of 64 M bytes or more.2.Free capacity of hard disk(virtual memory)At least 100M bytes of free capacity of virtual memory should be secured within hard disk to run this soft-ware.The processing may be terminated by Windows,if 100M bytes or more of free space cannot be securedwithin hard disk while running GT Designer2.Secure enough free capacity of virtual memory within hard disk space in order to run the software.When enough free capacity cannot be secured,make sure to save projects frequently.3.Error messages displayed while starting and editing"Operation will be terminated because of insufficient memory.Would you like to stop?"If the above message appears,close other running application software or reboot Windows in order tosecure at least 100M bytes of free hard disk space.4.GT Designer2 and GOT display(a)Cautions for displaying straight line other than full line(dotted line,for example)in BoldWhen straight line other than full line is drawn in bold,the line may not be displayed with its actual linewidth on a personal puter.However,it will be displayed correctly on GOT.This phenomenon does not mean data problem.(b)Display of end points of straight line/line freeform/polygonAs shown below,the end points of straight line/line freeform/polygon are displayed differently betweenGT Designer2 and GOT.On GT Designer2On GOT(c)Start position for filling patternsSome filling pattems may be differently displayed.For example,the start position may be different between GT Desginer2 and GOT.(d)Drawing of different type linesThe length of the dots varies in different dotted lines (for example:the chain lines).(e)Display of objectThe display position of the memory data display in graph function is different between GT Designer2and GOT.Even if the display-start-line of a ment has been set,the ment will be displayed from the firstline on GT Designer2.(f)Display magnificationWhen display magnification is changed,the connected lines or figures may be separated or thefilled-paint may be out of outline of the figure.However,if they are displayed correctly on the preview screen,they will appear correctly on GOT asA-5(Example):When filled-paint is out of the outline.Display magnification:200%Display magnification:100%Position of Paint mark may be shiftedand the filled-paint may exceed theoutline of the figure.5.Restrictions when the color setting is changed to the setting of less colors in thesystem environment(256 colors-2 colors)The color palette for setting color will be changed according to the new settingsThe color on the drawing screen will be kept the same as prior to the change.If the color setting for a [red]rectangle-figure is changed to the 2 colors (B/W),the [red]color willremain.The colors ofthe image data(BMP format file)will be reduced when the project is stored,the screen isclosed and that image data is double-clicked.6.Object function and device typeThe object(bit lamp or word lamp),for which bit device setting and word device setting are separated,can-not be converted between bit device and word device.7.When device type is changedConfirm the device type when the set bit device is changed from bit device into word device.The device flag may be represented as "??"depending on the settings.(Example)D0.b0→D0D0.b5→？8.OS settingSet the font size as "Small Font"when setting OS (Windows)screen.The GT designer2 dialog box cannot be displayed correctly if the font size is set as
